Folk and Fable Retellings – The Maidens Stolen Away

Another story inspired by a foundation less storied than the others, but profound nonetheless. After all, a maiden, a tower, and captivity are themes often bound together and their manifestation frequent enough across multiple tellings.

In this retelling of “The Maiden Stolen Away”, we have an unusual context to capacity and one’s prerogative to determine the means and use.

Folk and Fable Retellings – The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter

The idea is simple: expand on a set of fairy tales while framing it around leading ladies from various tabletop campaigns. I plan to write five of these and so far, this is my favorite one.

In this telling of “The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter”, we have a Kaguya who seeks to mercilessly strangle her predetermined fate with any resource at her disposal as opposed to passively waiting for the dice to fall where they may.
